In addition to the main research areas, our department carries out innovative projects in the field of science communication. The focus here is on testing new formats as well as professional and research fields of science communication. The experience and knowledge gained by the staff involved in the projects is incorporated into the research and practical teachings of the WMK degree programs.

Previous cooperation partners and sponsors include the Nationales Institut für Wissenschaftskommunikation (NaWiK, eng. National Institute for Science Communication), Wissenschaft im Dialog (eng. Science in Dialog), the Zentrum für Mediales Lernen (ZML, Center for Technology-Enhanced Learning) at KIT and the Wissenschaftsjahre (eng. Science Years) of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
